My Something New From the Past

OK. It’s a New Day. It’s time to try something a bit different.

Everyone prefers to make music with other musicians. It’s fun! But never before was it so evident to me, that just because we can’t be together – the music doesn’t have to stop. My passion for music still exists and now I have a guitar to play too! I can play a solo.

I have added to my song repertoire in 2021 and things are different. I’m different too. I feel we all are. We have all been through a lot together. Music inspires me and I am excited to share and reminisce with you musically.

During this past year I learned a whole bunch of great songs. Whether I am singing to people who live here or to people visiting, we will have different tastes in music. The call for a specific kind of music can change from week to week, night to night, or even in one night there could be a favorite song that “makes” someone’s night extra special.

There’s also people who like and appreciate a variety. I love just about all types of music, so it makes sense for me to sing as many types as possible. Yes, my favorite songs are still the traditional jazz standards of yesterday (basically, songs from The Great American Songbook). But I also love to sing Vintage Pop tunes from the 60s and 70s. These songs have come to us through many genres of music – Rhythm and Blues, Rock and Roll, Country, Latin, and Folk, just to name the popular ones.

I’m excited and happy about being able to change the genre of music very easily when I perform. Another great thing about my new song repertoire, is that I can put together a themed show at the drop of a hat.

This is wonderful for Special Promotions you’re having or if you’re celebrating something special. Also, when someone requests a song – chances for happiness are greater with an extensive repertoire.
